SPRINGFIELD — Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director Lisa Bonnett has referred an enforcement action to the Attorney General’s office against Union Pacific Railroad 鑫鼎彩票网 following a release of diesel fuel from one of its trains traveling near Sidney in Champaign County. The Agency is seeking immediate injunctive relief to require all appropriate measures to mitigate the release, which has impacted a tributary to the Salt Fork River and the Salt Fork, itself.

SPRINGFIELD — More than 900 fourth grade students from Sangamon County are participating in the 24th Annual Earth Stewardship Day at the Illinois State Fairgrounds today. SPRINGFIELD—Over 1,000 area Boy Scouts are spending the day taking part in the annual Lincoln Trail Hike, so named because hikers retrace the steps of a young Abraham Lincoln as he journeyed from New Salem to Springfield to borrow books. The Lincoln Trail Hike is part of the weekend activities of the 70th Annual Lincoln Pilgrimage, which is hosted by the Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America.
